What is Narrow Woven Fabric?

Narrow woven fabric is a type of fabric that is woven or knitted in a small width. The Narrow Fabric Institute defines narrow fabrics as textiles no more than 12 inches in width (300mm) and made by weaving, knitting, or braiding fibers or yarns with an edge to prevent
unraveling.

Most narrow woven fabrics tend to be 2.5 inches wide or less. At Jawahar Lal Phool Chand, where we specialize in weaving a wide range of webbings and tape products, we weave webbing from as narrow as 1/8 of an inch up to 7 inches wide. Our factory produces the highest quality narrow woven fabrics, offering many services and enhancements for improved performance or visual appeal. We pride ourselves on our extensive and diverse manufacturing
capabilities.

Factors to Consider When Selecting Narrow Fabrics

When choosing narrow fabrics, several key factors should guide your decision:

1. Intended application – Safety harnesses, fashion, industrial use, or medical needs

2. Material selection – From strong synthetic fibers to soft, flexible options.

3. Durability – Consider resistance to wear, tear, and environmental exposure.

4. Special properties – Abrasion or flame resistance.

5. Customization – Width, color, special coatings.

6. Compliance – Industry standards and certifications for specific fields.

7. Performance – Evaluate tensile strength, elongation, and flexibility.
